Driver CDL

Possible schedule, but subject to change based on customer demand: Monday-Friday (8hrs-10hrs routes, 5 days a week). Shifts start between 12:00 AM and 2:00 AM, depending on routes and business needs. 40hrs-60hrs per week.

Principal location: Crossdock Ryder truck rental, 7500 Strawberry Plains Pike, Knoxville, TN 37924. Interstate routes cover Tennessee and Kentucky.

About the role

As a Driver, you'll play a vital role in delivering our products safely and efficiently to various stores and warehouses. Our focus on safety and timely deliveries is paramount, ensuring our customers receive quality products.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with procedures and regular safety checks of your equipment (tractor, trailer, pallet jack, etc.) to always guarantee safety.
• Complete daily field service activities, including preparing receipts, truck logs, and maintenance records.
• Perform all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch.

Requirements

• Must meet all requirements set forth in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Final Rule regarding the issuance and renewal of Commercial Driver’s Licenses (CDLs).
• CDL-Class A license with at least one year of proven safe driving experience.
• Valid REAL ID driver’s license, U.S. passport, or federal ID (required to access military base facilities).
• Must successfully pass drug test, MVR, and background check.
• FMCSA’s Clearinghouse Registration required.
• Familiarity with Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, as well as local, state, and federal requirements.
• Basic understanding of temperature-controlled food transportation.
• Proficiency in using a smartphone and electronic logging device (ELD) for logging positions and driving times.
• Able to use a scanner and log deliveries.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing routes and working schedules.
• Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions and varying temperatures.

Qualifications

• Customer-oriented attitude, providing excellent support to key customers.
• Minimum of one year of safe driving experience with no serious driving convictions (DOT requirement to check the last 10 years).
• Preferred direct store delivery experience (DSD).

Pay

Hourly pay rate: $32 per hour. Eligibility for Branch Incentive Plan (BIP) Bonus.
