Driver CDL

About the role

As a Driver, you'll play a vital role in delivering products safely and efficiently to stores and warehouses. Focus on safety and timely deliveries ensures customers receive quality products. Principal location is Montgomery, AL, with deliveries primarily in Alabama and some cities in Georgia. Possible schedule is Monday to Friday, starting at 12 AM, with overtime opportunities available.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with procedures and conduct regular safety checks of equipment (tractor, trailer, pallet jack, etc.).
• Complete daily field service activities, including preparing receipts, truck logs, and maintenance records.
• Perform all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch.
• Adapt to changing routes and working schedules.
• Work in outdoor weather conditions and varying temperatures.
• Communicate vehicle problems and perform basic repairs if needed.

Requirements

• CDL-Class A license with at least one year of proven safe driving experience.
• Preferred direct store delivery (DSD) experience.
• Must pass drug test, MVR, and background check.
• FMCSA's Clearinghouse Registration required.
• Familiarity with OSHA, DOT regulations, and local, state, and federal requirements.
• Basic understanding of temperature-controlled food transportation.
• Proficiency in using a smartphone/tablet and electronic logging device (ELD) for logging positions and driving times.
• Able to use a scanner and log deliveries.
• General knowledge of vehicle mechanics.
• Customer-oriented attitude with excellent support for key customers.
• DOT requirement to check the last 10 years of driving history with no serious driving convictions.

Pay

Hourly pay rate: $29.60 an hour. Branch Incentive Plan (BIP) Bonus available.
