Hotshot drivers provide an essential service by transporting production assemblies to and from specified destinations located on SSTC Campus. Drivers are also responsible for inspecting their vehicles/trailers for mechanical items or issues relating to safe operation per DOT and company standards. Drivers must maintain a daily 24-hour electronic logbook record of duty status, documenting all work and rest periods. The record must be kept current to the last change of duty status, with records of the previous seven days retained in the truck and presented to law enforcement officials on demand. Drivers must stay in compliance with all state and Federal laws, along with SLB SSTC Transport’s policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepares, receives, and provides appropriate documentation for loading and unloading of goods to ensure accurate, legal, and expedited service (including but not limited to: DVIR’s, Electronic Logs, Fuel Receipts, Repair Receipts, DOT Roadside documentation, Tickets and Fines, and the driver’s daily activity report).
- Ensures safe loading, securement, and unloading of Finish Goods, Frames, and production material.
- Ensures the proper use, care, and possession of all company equipment, tools, and machinery, returning them in better condition than found.
- Inspects truck equipment such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water fluid levels, as well as supplies such as hoses and clamps, both pre-trip and post-trip. Properly documents and ensures completion of any deficiencies by approved parties.
- Maintains radio or telephone contact with the Hotshot Operations Supervisor to receive delivery or pick-up instructions or to communicate notice of changes throughout the assigned shift.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions.
- Maintains electronic truck logs according to state and Federal regulations.
- Performs or ensures the completion of emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs, as needed to expedite work completion.
- Performs all duties safely to avoid injury to oneself or others.
Requirements
- Holds a Class A CDL Driver’s License.
- A minimum of 3 years’ driving experience.
- High School Diploma.
- Meets all requirements on MVR report for Class A CDL.
- Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
