Responsibilities

• Ensures good customer relations through consistent on time deliveries and courteous behavior.
• Pick materials for orders, load/unload material, and manifest ship tickets.
• Properly and safely secure loads and ensure they are within vehicle weight limits.
• Verify count and condition of freight and make reports of overages, shortages, and damages.
• Prepare receipts for load pickup or delivery, collect payments for goods delivered, and for delivery charges.
• Maintain telephone or radio contact with managers to receive delivery instructions.
• Prepare for daily or shift-end tasks, including cleaning and maintaining work areas.
• Ensure quality control by not sending out or accepting damaged products.
• Adhere to all processes and procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license meeting Crawford requirements.
• Ability to obtain and pass a DOT physical.
• Six months or more related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
• PIT proficiency; reach truck, order picker, "sit down" propane.
• Current certification a plus.
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and handling small parts.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Vehicle Operation: Safe operation of company vehicle, compliance with DOT standards and regulations, reporting of any vehicle problems or defects, and performing emergency roadside repairs.
• Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs.
• Note: Long and varied hours required occasionally, ability to work mandatory physical inventory, and work in extreme hot or cold environments and dusty conditions.
