About the role
Deliver materials to job sites, inspect and maintain the truck, report shortages and claims to your supervisor, and assist in loading and storing materials. This is not a CDL driver position, but some state-specific certifications may be required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship).
- Ensure correct materials are pulled and loaded onto the truck for delivery.
- Deliver materials to job sites.
- Record selected merchandise in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Ensure correct and complete labels are attached to all orders processed.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.
- Operate and perform preventive maintenance on warehouse equipment.
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety regulations.
- Load finished products onto trucks.
- Navigate equipment through the warehouse to collect customer orders.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager regarding warehouse or deliveries.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Clean driving record and current operator’s license.
- At least 21 years of age to drive for the company.
- Experience driving trucks for delivery.
- Knowledge of architectural door materials and hardware preferred.
- Good communication skills; proper use of company-issued devices.
- Ability to perform arithmetic, read orders, write instructions, and complete forms.
- Ability to work closely and cordially with other staff associates.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to stand and walk for much of the day.
- Ability to lift 5–50 pounds frequently.
Work Environment
Conditions may include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery, use of various tools and hardware, and frequent heavy lifting.
