Driver

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused CDL Driver to support the daily operations of chemical distribution. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of Class 8 tractors and related equipment to transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials, including both liquid and dry products.

Responsibilities

• Daily operation and driving of a power unit (Class 8 tractors and lower) for chemical distribution.
• Performing bulk and packaged deliveries, executing proper loading and unloading procedures, completing required documentation, and ensuring compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Brenntag’s safety standards.
• Operating a tractor, trailer, or applicable service vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.
• Complying with all applicable DOT, OSHA, and site-specific rules and regulations during the performance of job functions.
• Fulfilling all components of driver qualifications (DQ) for employment.
• Following all Brenntag operating procedures and work instructions.
• Adhering to all safety policies and procedures while on a customer/vendor site.
• Operating pallet jacks (electric or manual) and forklifts as required.
• Maintaining good housekeeping on the equipment and ensuring it is in good working order prior to use.
• Communicating with supervisor and/or dispatcher to receive delivery instructions.

Requirements

• Class "A" CDL with Tanker, Bulk, and/or Hazmat Endorsement (as required for role).
• Current DOT medical card.
• Current TWIC card or application in process (if location requires).
• Ability to drive a manual transmission.
• Minimum of 1 year liquid bulk hauling experience or 3 years commercial truck driving experience (preferred).
• Certification from Accredited Commercial Driving Academy (preferred).
• Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed.
• Comfortable with general warehouse duties and the use of applicable equipment.
• Detail and customer-oriented with good organizational skills.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and conduct detailed and simple instructions in English and write simple correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Ability to learn and operate technology-based devices such as smart phones, tablets, transportation platforms (e.g., Samsara) to conduct normal safety, compliance, and business operations.
• Ability to operate power units that utilize advanced camera and safety systems (i.e., Samsara) for compliance purposes.
• Reside local to area (within sixty miles).
• No lodging provided.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Pass E-verify check.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or US military experience.
• Must meet all components of driver qualifications (DQ) for employment.
