This position is responsible for transporting residents to and from medical appointments and community locations, including admissions from local hospitals, as well as activity outings in a safe and courteous manner. Additionally, this role works with the Life Enrichment Team to plan, coordinate, assist, and implement a full life enrichment program and volunteer program, while maintaining and updating on-campus communication.

Responsibilities

Driver

  • Drive the van on scheduled appointments and activities.
  • Assist residents onto and off the vehicle and to their point of destination if required.
  • Notify supervisor of any required repairs to the vehicle.
  • Complete the checklist on the van at the beginning of each day and check the gas before each trip.
  • Monitor and comply with the vehicle inspection schedule.
  • Keep the facility environment safe by removing unsafe items from driveways and walkways; report broken or hazardous objects to your supervisor.
  • Clean the interior and exterior of the van weekly.

Life Enrichment Coordinator

  • Collaborate with the Resident Services Director in planning, implementing, and facilitating social and recreational programs at the campus, including structured individual and group activities and resident-led events.
  • Plan and escort off-campus events such as educational outings, special trips, and musical performances while maintaining compliance with CL Policy.
  • Collaborate with the Life Enrichment team to coordinate the resident and community volunteer program.
  • Develop and direct the volunteer program, including recruiting, scheduling, and coordinating volunteers for the campus.
  • Coordinate with other departments in planning, implementing, and facilitating events, including town hall and resident council meetings.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement larger-scale events periodically.
  • Update the on-campus TV channel and utilize other formal communication methods (e.g., monthly newsletter, information board).
  • Provide newsletter editing as needed.
  • Stay current with trends in recreational programming for older adults and ensure Covenant Living standards for activity programs are met or exceeded.
  • Provide welcome and orientation for new residents, update care plans, interventions, and attend care conferences as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s Degree preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience.
  • Experience working with senior adults.
  • Strong communication, organization, creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to design and implement programs compatible with state regulations.
  • Ability to train and mentor a team.
  • Ability to develop and schedule life enrichment programs aligned with residents' interests.

Physical Requirements

  • Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office/community setting.
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate various equipment based on department and weather conditions.
  • Engage in repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and fingers (typing and/or writing).
  • Clarity of vision for near visual acuity (working with small objects or reading small print, including computer use).
  • Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more (ability to recognize features).
  • Peripheral vision (observing an area up and down or to the right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point).

Pay

$17.52 - $23.06 per hour
