Dripping Springs Grocery - Overnight Stock Controller - Full time
About the Role
As a Stock Controller, you'll lead and provision a well-stocked and well-maintained department while providing superior customer service. This role offers the opportunity to learn about multiple products and departments across the store and lead a team, serving as a building block for career growth at H-E-B.
Responsibilities
- Carry the leadership baton in absence of the Department Manager; work nights or opposite shift of Manager.
- Lead the overnight stocking team, including delegating and directing work, motivating Partners, and holding the team accountable for meeting expectations; manage conflict or escalate to appropriate Leader.
- Communicate the "state of the team" (performance, operations, morale, department needs, inventory) to Department Manager and Leader; may provide formal input on Partner performance.
- Coach and develop Partners; assist with new hire onboarding and training.
- Provide input on writing schedules; report on overnight time and attendance.
- Lead the team to deliver key results (e.g., A+ Standards, labor, OT, hospitality).
- Use technology and data to manage inventory and in-stocks.
- Comply with departmental SOPs and store operating procedures; ensure other Partners comply.
- Ensure compliance with inventory management SOPs and processes (e.g., MSI/MSR/scan full case backstock).
- Lead and train on 100% in-stocks, rotation, and fully-filled displays.
- Communicate with DSD vendors.
- Load, unload, and move heavy, bulky products; perform Night Stocker duties as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service; model and coach superior customer service and hospitality.
- Answer customer questions regarding products; assist with selections; address complaints and resolve problems.
- Merchandise products effectively.

Requirements
- 18 years or older.
- 3+ months of experience in stocking or customer service.
- Experience leading an overnight team, or large teams in other areas of the business (preferred).

Drugstore:

- Occasionally: reach at overhead, reach at shoulder, reach at knee, reach at floor, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, pivot, twist, push/pull with arms, pinch, perform fine motor movements.
- Occasionally exposed to loud noise, ambient temperatures, and wet conditions.
- Demonstrate the ability to lift 66 lbs and manage in excess of 50 lbs.
Measurements are generally defined as:
- Constantly: 5.5+ hours per 8-hour day.
- Frequently: 2.5 - 5.5 hours per 8-hour day.
- Occasionally: 0 - 2.5 hours per 8-hour day.
Partners must never lift beyond their own safe lifting limit. If an item is too heavy, break it down into lighter components or ask for assistance.
