Drill Operator

About the role

The role involves operating and maintaining directional drill rigs and related equipment, with responsibilities including locating underground utilities, preparing ground conditions with suitable chemicals, guiding drill heads accurately, and executing pullback processes to connect products to reamers. Candidates must inspect and maintain equipment, coordinate with team members, and adhere to strict safety standards to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain directional drill rigs and related equipment
• Locate underground utilities
• Prepare ground conditions with suitable chemicals
• Guide drill heads accurately

Requirements

• 1–2 years of directional drilling experience in urban settings
• Familiar with drills such as Vermeer or Ditch Witch
• Valid WA Class A CDL with a clean driving record
• Strong problem-solving, map reading, and communication skills
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Physical capabilities including lifting up to 50 pounds and performing demanding tasks

Work Environment

Primarily on active construction sites, possibly involving long hours, night shifts, and underground, confined or low-light environments.

Preferred Certifications

• OSHA 30 or MSHA
• First Aid/CPR
• Valid WA CDL
