Drafting Intern

About the role

The Drafter Intern at Matrix PDM is part of an internship program designed to offer practical experience to top drafting/design students, with the aim of identifying future team members.

Responsibilities

• Support the Company’s commitment to safety and adhere to the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
• Participate in training and research to find solutions to assigned tasks and projects.
• Understand and produce layouts and drawings based on provided documentation and procedures.
• Aid drafting staff with various assignments, including producing new drawings, performing basic layouts, and correcting existing drawings.
• Perform additional assignments related to assigned discipline, as directed.
• Work within a team environment and demonstrate a proactive and positive attitude.

Requirements

• Student pursuing a degree in Computer Aided Design or Drafting (or recently graduated).
• No prior experience required.
• Experience in AutoCAD, CAD Worx, and/or Inventor preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft applications.
• Understanding of ANSI drawing standards and detailed equipment design.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of general math and trigonometry.
• High motivation and a proactive approach.
• GPA 3.0 or greater.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Skills

• AutoCAD, CAD Worx, Inventor.
• Microsoft applications.
• ANSI drawing standards.
• Basic math and trigonometry.
