Responsibilities
- Apply manual and computerized drafting methods with a working knowledge of the terms and procedures to prepare various electrical and control drawings including wiring diagrams, one-lines, and schematics to represent the electrical design.
- Draft complex drawings in a 2-D or 3-D environment as per project requirements.
- Demonstrate the ability to draw complex electrical systems from sketches using appropriate symbology, terms, procedures, and drafting standards.
- Prepare bills of material, resolve client comments, and prepare as-built drawings as needed.
- Complete assignments under the direction of a supervisor, utilizing information provided by engineers or design staff.
Qualifications
- Education Required: Associate's degree in drafting/design/engineering technology or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school or equivalent job-related experience (2 years job-related experience equivalent to 1-year college).
- Experience Required: One (1) year minimum experience in engineering drafting and familiarity with basic drafting techniques, in addition to educational requirements.
- Able to accurately draw complex electrical/controls systems from sketches or specifications using appropriate terms, procedures, and drafting standards.
- Able to utilize various drafting and CADD techniques for project requirements.
- Able to produce complex drawings in a 2-D and 3-D environment.
- Other Required Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); effective time management skills; ability to pass security and drug screening and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access; ability to perform walk downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment, to include climbing ladders, working at heights, carrying equipment up to 50 pounds, accessing security-controlled areas, and entering confined spaces and controlled hazardous areas (e.g., high temperatures, high radiation).
