Responsibilities
- Create and update electrical and low-voltage design drawings using AutoCAD, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Finalize wiring schematics and low-voltage design documentation for fire alarm and related systems.
- Translate fire alarm system concepts into clear, detailed electrical and low-voltage design plans.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand project specifications for fire alarm annunciators, custom control panels, jail panels, smoke control panels, and graphic maps.
- Support the design and documentation of driver systems within fire alarm and low-voltage projects.
- Incorporate understanding of electronic circuitry into design work to improve system reliability and performance.
- Review and refine existing drawings and schematics to meet quality standards and client expectations.
- Maintain organized project files and design records for both local and international projects.
- Learn and, over time, utilize metallics software to assist in finalizing designs and schematics, as needed.
- Work independently on assigned projects, managing your own workload without micromanagement while meeting deadlines.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and documentation standards.
- Participate in obtaining and applying relevant certificates for projects, supporting compliance and quality assurance.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience as an electrical or low-voltage designer with strong proficiency in AutoCAD, OR at least 1 year of experience as a fire alarm technician with hands-on experience finalizing wiring schematics and low-voltage design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating and modifying electrical and low-voltage drawings.
- Experience with fire alarm systems, including understanding of fire alarm design or field installation.
- Ability to finalize wiring schematics and low-voltage design documentation accurately.
- Knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems and components.
- Interest in learning and using metallics software to finalize designs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings and documentation.
- Able to work independently on individual projects and manage time effectively.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for documenting and discussing design work.
