About the role

We’re seeking a Designer/Drafter to join our team in Austin or San Antonio, Texas. You’ll have the opportunity to use your vast experience in the industry and apply it to solving today’s challenges. As part of our team, you’ll work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients’ challenges locally and worldwide by providing a range of skills as part of an integrated building services design.

This position emphasizes mentorship, professional development, and teamwork. You’ll contribute to project delivery through high-quality modeling, technical design support, and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining Jacobs’ standards for quality, safety, and innovation. You’ll also have access to our worldwide network of excellence in engineering and technical delivery experts to further your knowledge of the industry and grow in your professional development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate 3D civil models and design outputs for roads, drainage, and related infrastructure
• Support design development, including preparation of drawings, calculations, and technical documentation
• Perform design checks and contribute to review/assurance activities
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated engineering solutions
• Support project delivery to meet scope, schedule, and quality expectations
• Coordinate with drafting and modeling teams to ensure consistency and accuracy
• Assist in preparing quantities and cost-related inputs
• Ensure compliance with Jacobs QA processes and standards
• Contribute to a strong safety and inclusion culture

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree or technical drafting/designing
• At least 4-5 years of experience working with site civil projects
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale commercial, semiconductor, or data center projects

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $74,700.00 to $140,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

We empower employees with our hybrid working policy, allowing them to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.
