Drafter

Job Description

Parsons is looking for a talented Drafter to join our team full-time to support one of the many large transformative transportation projects. Some of the larger projects are located in the states of: Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, and Indiana.

What You'll Be Doing

• Utilize Microstation to prepare contract drawings from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures.
• Utilize technical manuals and directives to ensure compliance with codes and company policies.
• Become familiar with various standards and codes such as AASHTO.
• Compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings.
• Understand how to read and create orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) designs and interpret supplier/manufacturer drawings.

Required Skills

• A High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 5+ or more of relevant experience preferred with civil drafting and design.
• Solid Working knowledge of Microstation, InRoads, and/or Open Roads is essential for this position.
• Projectwise and project delivery experience is desirable.
• Experience with above states DOT drafting standards is desirable, but not required.
• Working knowledge of other computer software used to complete design assignments.
