Drafter

Actalent is seeking a Drafter for a contract-to-hire position based in Kaukauna, WI. This role involves managing and translating client-provided drawings into shop detail drawings, working primarily in 2D.

About the role

You will work on a computer, handling data within client-provided drawings and converting these files into shop detail drawings. The position may involve independent work or collaboration with a team, depending on project size. The environment includes a dynamic team of 10 drafters and checkers in a growing company, with primarily computer-based tasks and occasional exposure to a loud fabrication shop.

Responsibilities

• Manage and translate client-provided drawings into shop detail drawings.
• Collaborate with team members on larger projects when necessary.
• Ensure accuracy and quality in 2D drafting work.
• Interface with the shop to ensure proper execution of designs.

Requirements

• Proficiency in AutoCAD with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and flat prints.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Excel, including pivot tables and data manipulation.
• Associate's degree in CAD/drafting.

Skills

• 3+ years of AutoCAD experience preferred.
• 2+ years of drafting experience in a piping setting is advantageous.
• Experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, or welding is beneficial.
• Mechanical inclination, such as working on personal vehicles or home improvements.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00 per hour. Individual compensation within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other job-related factors.
