Equal Employment Opportunity Statement ... (boilerplate) ... The City of Richmond Values Veterans. We are an official V3 Certified Company. The City of Richmond is a proud partner with the US Army Partnership for Your Success PaYS Program."
We need to remove boilerplate: EEO, legal, etc. Also remove navigation/cookie etc. Also remove duplicated lines. Also remove application instructions (like "If you're selected to move forward, our department will reach out directly to schedule your interview.") Also remove "Please note this position is subject to a pre-employment background check and/or drug screening." Might be considered boilerplate? It's a requirement but maybe keep? The instruction says remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. The background check/drug screening is not exactly application instruction but could be considered a condition; but it's not EEO. Might keep? However it's a standard condition; but we can keep if it's substantive. The instruction says remove application instructions. That line about department reaching out is application instruction. The background check line maybe not instruction but a condition; I'd keep it as it's relevant.
We need sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule.
We need to decide which sections have content.
- About the role: Could be the introductory paragraph about excitement, commitment, benefit enhancements, hiring event details. That seems like about the role/company. We'll put that in About the role
with
containing that info. - Responsibilities: Duties list. We'll extract duties: Installing and repairing water service fire hydrants, meters, lateral/main, sampling stations, valves and all other water assets; Using various hand tools, hydraulic tampers, compressors, pneumatic air and power tools; Operating heavy equipment & trucks to include: backhoe, crane truck, excavator, single and tandem axle dump trucks with trailers; Reading, interpreting and executing plans by following detailed technical illustrations, such as maps, surveys and diagrams; Following established safety procedures and protocols. Also emergency response, on-call duty, 24 hour on-call, weekend/holiday call duty. Also reporting for emergency and on-call duty in response to inclement weather/natural disaster, disruption in water distribution system and other urgent events. Also rotating weekend and holidays as scheduled. We'll put as
- items.
- Requirements: Could be minimum training and experience, licensing, certifications, etc. Also maybe "Must be able to be exposed to outside elements... lift up to 50 lbs." That's more physical requirements. Might go under Requirements or Qualifications. We'll separate: Requirements = minimum training/experience, licensing, certifications. Qualifications = knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs). Skills = maybe demonstrated skill using tools etc. But we have overlapping. The instruction says prefer few substantive sections over many thin ones. So we might combine some.
We have sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule.
We need to include only those with real content.
Let's map content:
About the role: intro paragraph about excitement, commitment, benefit enhancements, hiring event details (date, time, location). Also mention that it's part of hiring event. That's substantive.
Responsibilities: duties list as above.
Requirements: Minimum training and experience (HS diploma/GED, 1 year experience, equivalent combination). Licensing, certifications (CDL Class B or higher within 6 months, Class A CDL for highest level). Also maybe "Valid Driver's License" under preferred? Actually that's under preferred training and experience. But we can include under Requirements as well.
Qualifications: Knowledge, skills, abilities (knowledge of water pipeline maintenance, pipe fitting, Miss Utility Laws, OSHA regulations). Also demonstrated skill using hand tools, heavy equipment, power tools, communicating orally/written, driving work truck (CDL required). Ability to identify hazardous situations, follow SOPs, multi-task. Also ability to work outside elements, lift up to 50 lbs. That seems like qualifications.
Skills: Could be the demonstrated skill using tools etc. But that overlaps with qualifications. Maybe we can put skills as separate list: Demonstrated skill using hand tools such as shovels and wrenches; heavy equipment such as backhoes and dump trucks; and power tools (jackhammer, pipe saw and water pump). Demonstrated skill communicating orally and written; and driving a work truck (CDL required). Demonstrated ability to identify hazardous situations; follow standard operating procedures; and to multi-task. Must be able to be exposed to outside elements to be able to work outside during summer and winter; and to lift up to 50 lbs. That's similar to qualifications. Might be redundant.
Better to follow typical structure: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements (minimum quals), Qualifications (preferred), Skills (maybe not needed), Benefits, Pay, Schedule.
But we need to decide based on content.
Benefits: The posting mentions employee benefit enhancements: Virginia Retirement System (VRS) Language Incentive Referral Bonus Tuition Assistance Program. Also maybe other benefits? That's it. So we can have Benefits section with those three items.
Pay: The anticipated hiring range is $45,285 - $60,375. So Pay section.
Schedule: Day shift (Hours 7:00 am - 3:30 pm). Also note hours may vary, rotating weekend and holidays as scheduled, 24 hour on-call, weekend/holiday call duty. So schedule info.
Thus we have all sections.
Now we need to output HTML fragment only, no /, no markdown.
We'll produce:
