About the Role

As a DOT Program Coordinator at Jacam Catalyst, you will assist the Manager of DOT and Fleet Programs in ensuring compliance with DOT and related rules. This position requires approximately 80% travel time. Primary interaction will be with regulated and non-regulated drivers to train, educate, and encourage compliance and safe driving behavior. The role involves frequent fieldwork, often in outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and mentor drivers in the completion of Commercial Motor Vehicle inspections
  • Provide formal classroom training on various DOT topics
  • Conduct formal classroom training for non-regulated drivers on safe driving behavior topics
  • Perform commentary, evaluation, and road test drives
  • Handle ELD installation, removal, training, and troubleshooting
  • Deliver Decision Driving training
  • Document training, coaching, inspections, and other activities in the Safety Management System

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Knowledge of FMCSA & PHMSA regulations
  • Knowledge of medium and heavy-duty truck components
  • Specialized training in state and federal DOT regulations and safety requirements preferred
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license (CDL a plus)

  • Computer Skills: Intermediate/advanced proficiency; ability to navigate web browsers, follow online instructions, and use typing/mouse effectively
  • Customer Service Skills: Meet internal and external commitments, respond promptly to customer needs, and solicit feedback to improve service
  • Work Ethic: Dependable, trustworthy, and credible; display a sincere desire to provide service, follow instructions, and take responsibility for actions

Work Environment

  • Indoors and outdoors, with frequent driving involved
  • Exposure to temperature extremes and outdoor elements
  • Use of safety equipment, including hardhat, safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, gloves, and H2S Monitor as required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and goggles
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds in various packaging
