About the role
The primary role of the dosimetrist is to initiate and see-through the treatment planning process for external beam proton treatment plans. Additionally, the medical dosimetrist will, on occasion, aid in special procedures and brachytherapy treatment planning.
Responsibilities
- Initiate and oversee the treatment planning process for external beam proton treatment plans.
- Aid in special procedures and brachytherapy treatment planning as needed.
- Provide training to dosimetrists, physicists, radiation oncologists, and affiliate trainees in dosimetry.
- Safeguard and adhere to Baptist Health System Foundation (BHSF) safety and compliance programs, including OSHA, HIPAA, and the Code of Ethics.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a physical science or RTT.
- Graduate of a formal, JRCERT dosimetry program.
- Direct dosimetry experience and Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) board-eligible/certified required.
- For recent dosimetry graduates, CMD certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire date.
- RTT experience from an accredited radiation therapy technology program is preferred.
Qualifications
- MDCB Certified Medical Dosimetrist.
- Bachelor's degree in a physical science or RTT.
- Graduate of a formal, JRCERT dosimetry program.

- For recent graduates, CMD certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire date.
- RTT experience from an accredited radiation therapy technology program is preferred.
