About the role

The primary role of the dosimetrist is to initiate and see-through the treatment planning process for external beam proton treatment plans. Additionally, the medical dosimetrist will, on occasion, aid in special procedures and brachytherapy treatment planning.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and oversee the treatment planning process for external beam proton treatment plans.
• Aid in special procedures and brachytherapy treatment planning as needed.
• Provide training to dosimetrists, physicists, radiation oncologists, and affiliate trainees in dosimetry.
• Safeguard and adhere to Baptist Health System Foundation (BHSF) safety and compliance programs, including OSHA, HIPAA, and the Code of Ethics.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a physical science or RTT.
• Graduate of a formal, JRCERT dosimetry program.
• Direct dosimetry experience and Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) board-eligible/certified required.
• For recent dosimetry graduates, CMD certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire date.
• RTT experience from an accredited radiation therapy technology program is preferred.

Qualifications

• MDCB Certified Medical Dosimetrist.
• Bachelor's degree in a physical science or RTT.
• Graduate of a formal, JRCERT dosimetry program.
