Door Person-Harrah's Tower, Hotel Guest Services (Caesars New Orleans)
About the role
The Door Person will be the first and last point of contact for guests, setting the tone for a memorable stay. This role is essential in creating a refined and inviting atmosphere that enhances the overall guest experience by providing warm, personalized assistance and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Maintains an upbeat and positive attitude, creating positive energy with gestures and sustaining enthusiasm from one interaction to the next.
- Creates an atmosphere of luck and celebrates guests’ wins.
- Greets guests with a warm, friendly verbal greeting and builds relationships.
- Anticipates needs and provides fast, flawless service.
- Greets and escorts guests to the hotel front desk in the absence of a Bell Person.
- Opens doors and assists guests/visitors entering and leaving the property.
- Informs guests/visitors of property amenities, services, hours of operation, and local areas of interest.
- Identifies and explains hotel features to guests/residents (e.g., valet process and parking rules).
- Assists guests in and out of vehicles, including loading/unloading luggage.
- Assists guests in locating and/or transporting packages.
- Follows all company policies and procedures; reports accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.
- Lays out safety signage in public areas and Porte cochère during extreme weather, including mats inside the Cathedral and providing umbrellas on the front drive.
- Maintains awareness of undesirable persons on property premises.
- Informs 3rd party vendors and delivery drivers to enter through security.
- Ensures uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintains confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Speaks to team members and guests using clear and professional language.
- Develops and maintains positive working relationships with others.
- Checks for satisfaction and effectively resolves service breakdowns.
- Promotes Total Rewards programs and card membership.
- Provides a warm farewell and thanks guests for visiting.
- Performs other reasonable job duties as requested by Management.
- Maintains a clean work area, including seating areas and front doors.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Door Person or Bell Desk position is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of guest service experience in a position with direct customer contact, with the ability to provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service.
- Ability to lift heavy baggage up to 100 pounds.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well with co-workers as part of a team.
- Must be available to work any day of the week and any shift.
- Must present a well-groomed appearance.
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
- Must be able to work and quickly maneuver inside and outside, sometimes in extreme temperatures (105°F to 10°F).
- Must be able to run on all types of surfaces, as well as up and down stairs.
- Must be able to drive all types of passenger vehicles with automatic or manual transmissions safely.
- Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
- Able to work independently.
- Able to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, and lift objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Able to push and/or pull heavy rolling loads exceeding 300 pounds.
