Responsibilities

• Assist patients and guests to and from cars, courtesy vans, shuttle busses, or taxis while establishing and maintaining a pleasant and helpful relationship.
• Provide direction support, mobility assistance, and answer general questions from guests.
• Keep patient loading zones clear.
• Transport patients, their personal belongings, or selected medical devices.
• Call, record, and monitor taxi cabs and courtesy vehicles daily for patients and visitors.
• Assist and support valet operations as directed.
• Sanitize equipment used to support patients.
• Assist with traffic control in drive‑up lanes to ensure safety.
• Perform wheelchair recovery on hospital floors, clinic floors, hotels, and other on‑ and off‑campus ancillary areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (or higher education) required.
• Previous hospital or clinical experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good communication, telephone, and human‑relation skills.
• Strong problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations and stress.
• Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
• Works varied hours (days, evenings, holidays, weekends) with rotating days off.

This position is Limited Tenure (LT). If hired, you will be a regular employee during the tenure, but employment will terminate at the established end date (approximately 24 months from hire). You must remain in the role until the tenure ends before becoming eligible to transfer; after completion, you must secure another role within Mayo Clinic via the job vacancy process or employment will end.

Pay

$20.00 – $26.44 per hour

Exemption status: Non‑exempt

Schedule

Full time – 80 hours per pay period. Monday‑Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm. No weekend schedule.
