Door Attendant - Downtown - Limited Tenure

About the role

The door attendant assists patients and guests to and from cars, courtesy vans, shuttle buses, or taxis, while maintaining a pleasant and helpful relationship. Responsibilities include offering direction, support, and answering questions, transporting patients, their belongings, or medical devices, calling and monitoring taxis, supporting valet operations, sanitizing equipment, and managing traffic control.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients and guests to and from cars, courtesy vans, shuttle buses, or taxis.
• Offer direction, support, and answer questions.
• Transport patients, their personal belongings, or selected medical devices.
• Call, record, and monitor taxis and courtesy vehicles daily for patients and visitors.
• Aid and support valet operations as directed.
• Sanitize any equipment used to support patients.
• Assist with traffic control in drive-up lanes to ensure safety.
• Perform wheelchair recovery on hospital, clinic, hotel, and other on/off campus areas as needed.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous hospital or clinical experience is preferred.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Requires good communication, telephone, and human relations skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills are necessary.
• Must be able to adapt to unpredictable situations and stress.
• Works varied hours including days, evenings, days/evenings, holidays, and weekends, with rotating days off.
• Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record required.

Pay

$20.00 - $26.44 / hour

Schedule

Full Time Hours/Pay Period: 80
Schedule Details: Monday-Friday; float positions.
Start times are scheduled between 7:00am & 9:30am. Start times will be posted 6 weeks in advance.
