Donor Relations Specialist

As a full-time Donor Relations Specialist at JOURNEYS | The Road Home in Palatine, IL, you'll inspire a community to take action and help individuals rebuild their lives.

Responsibilities

• Meet and engage with donors to build meaningful connections
• Craft donor experiences that inspire generosity and deepen commitment to our mission
• Design creative engagement strategies
• Personally steward supporters
• Lead innovative fundraising and friend-raising campaigns
• Develop relationships and share impactful stories

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, English, communications, or related field
• Strong interpersonal, engagement, and public speaking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Familiarity with JOURNEYS' service area communities
• Able to meet deadlines and budget goals with a positive attitude
• Tech-savvy and willing to learn new platforms
• Flexible for occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role preferred
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong understanding of nonprofit operations and fundraising principles

Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with fundraising software and CRM systems

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a choice of schedules: 8:30 AM–4:30 PM or 10:00 AM–6:00 PM.
