Donor Engagement Manager

Ideastream Public Media, a Cleveland-based media organization and home to Ohio’s largest NPR, PBS, and classical radio stations, serves 22 counties in Northeast Ohio with trusted, in-depth, high-quality local news and information.

About the role

The Donor Engagement Managers will enhance the experience, engagement, and satisfaction of Ideastream’s donors to increase retention rates and giving over time. These mission-driven professionals will manage a portfolio of 500-700 mid-level donors, creating personal touchpoints based on donor interests and executing strategies to achieve individual and organizational goals. The role involves identifying donors with capacity for additional giving and working closely with Philanthropy Directors to transition donors seeking deeper engagement.

Responsibilities

• Manage a tiered portfolio of 500-700 mid-level donors.
• Identify donors with capacity for increased giving and cultivate relationships to encourage additional support.
• Create personalized communication and engagement strategies tailored to donor interests and giving history.
• Execute donor engagement strategies to meet individual and organizational fundraising goals.
• Collaborate with Philanthropy Directors to transition donors desiring deeper engagement with Ideastream.
• Build and maintain meaningful relationships with donors, community partners, and supporting organizations.
• Utilize CRM databases to track donor interactions and manage portfolios effectively.
• Work evenings and weekends as required for donor events or engagement activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Three years of experience in development, donor relations, membership, events, or a similar role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in using CRM databases.
• Demonstrated ability in decision-making, project management, and problem-solving.
• Ability to build and sustain meaningful relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Pay

$55,000 - $59,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
