Responsibilities

  • Aid in coordinating the daily operations, including biologic product deviation notifications and addressing concerns.
  • Safeguard the timely management of product level investigation under ARC inventory.
  • Coordinate the identification, control, notification, and retrieval of suspect products.
  • Identify suspect products by reviewing donor deferral records.
  • Perform retrieval activities related to product complaints, including bacterial detection cases.
  • May correct, update, and verify changes in donor records to ensure appropriate entry and confidential handling of data.
  • May assist with donor reentry and reinstatement.

Requirements

  • Full knowledge of job responsibilities.
  • Substantial acquaintance with and understanding of general aspects of the job.
  • Contact within department and occasionally outside of organization.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School or equivalent required. Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in a science or health care field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience in blood banking/ collections, laboratory testing, medical records, auditing, quality review or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Management Experience: N/A

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to work on a team.
  • Read, write, and verbally communicate at the high school to college level.
  • Intermediate to advanced level computer skills with Microsoft Office applications in a Windows environment.
  • Bilingual is helpful.

Physical Requirements

  • The duties are representative of the essential functions of the position.
  • Physical requirements are those present in normal office environment conditions.
  • Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs.
  • Ability to use a personal computer and applicable software for sustained periods of time.
