Donor and Community Partnership Specialist

About the role

The Donor and Community Partnership Specialist cultivates and stewards donor relationships, supports third-party fundraising events, and collaborates with the Development and Communications team to implement fundraising strategies that advance the philanthropic goals of Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care.

The Specialist works closely with the Chief Development and Communications Officer and Director of Donor Relations to craft an overall fundraising strategy designed to grow giving from a defined sector of KCH donors with a history or capability of annual contributions equal to or greater than $1,000 (mid-level).

Responsibilities

• Cultivate and steward donor relationships
• Support third-party fundraising events
• Collaborate with the Development and Communications team to implement fundraising strategies
• Develop and execute fundraising strategies targeting mid-level donors ($1,000+ annual contributions)
• Manage donor-specific communications and interactions
• Utilize and maintain fundraising software (Raiser’s Edge/NXT, P2P software, WordPress)

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
• Three to five years of fundraising experience in a complex, data-driven organization (healthcare preferred)
• Three to five years of fundraising event experience
• Proven experience working in Raiser’s Edge/NXT or comparable software
• Comfort with learning and using new software systems, including WordPress website management
• Analytical and strategic thinker with strong writing, editing, and project management skills
• Data-driven decision-making abilities
• Commitment to the AFP Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Practice
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Google applications preferred
