Donations Clerk (Elkhorn)
Every day of the year, Open Door Mission provides safe shelter, meals, clothing, recovery, and life-changing programs and services to hungry and homeless in Omaha and Southwest Iowa. About the role
Open Door Mission is a Gospel Rescue Mission founded in 1954 committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty. Each day, Open Door Mission’s campus offers 917 safe, shelter beds to people experiencing homelessness, serves over 4,747 nutritious meals to feed the hungry, and provides homeless preventive resources to more than 1,000 people living in poverty to empower them to remain in their own homes.
Responsibilities
- Receive and record donations, always acting with a friendly, helpful, and thankful attitude towards donors.
- Unload trucks.
- Organize and prepare donations for transportation.
- Work as a team with staff members and community volunteers.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Keep the receiving area and equipment clean, in good repair, and organized.
Requirements
- A visible relationship with Jesus Christ, and ability to share the gospel as opportunities arise.
- Consistent attendance at a local Christian church.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods.
- Must be trainable in use of pallet jack and forklift.
- Proficient computer skills, including Google Suite and general computer operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma and a valid driver's license.
- Good decision-making skills, and an ability to work with people in crisis situations.
- Excellent ability to organize and make a space efficient and welcoming.
- Must be able to delegate others to do work.
- Agree with the Open Door Mission Statement of Faith.

Details
- Job Type: Full Time.
- Pay Range: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour.
- Pay Frequency: Bi-Weekly.
- Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Work Location: Elkhorn Donation Center.
