Donation Attendant

About the role

Goodwill Industries of Akron is looking to hire an entry-level Donation Attendant / Stock Associate. This role serves as the face of the agency to donors, accepting, loading, unloading, sorting, and pricing donations while supporting the mission of helping individuals prepare for, find, and retain employment.

Responsibilities

• Accept merchandise donations and provide assistance to donors with a gracious and positive attitude
• Offer donors a coupon, a receipt, and a smile with every interaction
• Sort clothing and household goods into categories with efficiency and organization
• Test electronics to ensure they work properly before pricing
• Keep accurate and up-to-date records of donations
• Help promote the development of service participants
• Maintain a clean work area free of hazards and operate equipment following safe operating procedures

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and load donations for clothing, furniture, and other household goods
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions
• Customer service skills
• Good communication skills and ability to work well with people
• Ability to work efficiently with awareness of surroundings

Schedule

This entry-level position requires a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
