About the role

We're looking for a thoughtful, product-minded engineer to join our team and help build the future of collaborative research. You'll work across the stack to ship features that make scientific knowledge more accessible and reproducible.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain core product features across the frontend and backend
• Collaborate with designers, researchers, and other engineers to define and ship new capabilities
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
• Debug and resolve production issues with a focus on reliability and user experience

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency with Python and a modern JavaScript framework (React, Vue, or similar)
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
• Comfortable with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and query optimization
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Prior work on scientific, data-intensive, or open-source platforms is a plus

Pay

$160,000 – $195,000 per year, depending on experience and location.

Schedule

Full-time, with core collaboration hours from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM Eastern Time.
