About the role

Syft is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will build and maintain the core platform that connects bakers with customers, focusing on scalability, reliability, and user experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy full-stack features across the Syft platform
• Architect and implement scalable backend services and APIs
• Collaborate with product, design, and other engineers to deliver high-quality solutions
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior team members
• Debug and resolve production issues in a timely manner
• Contribute to technical planning and architecture discussions

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency with Python and Django (or similar web frameworks)
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Familiarity with frontend technologies (React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

• Monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, New Relic)

• Experience with geospatial data or mapping integrations
