At Ford Motor Company, we are committed to building smart, reliable vehicles that exceed customer expectations. We are seeking a Domain Hardware Quality Engineer to lead quality efforts across vehicle programs, specifically in the electronic module and sensor domains.
Responsibilities
- End to End Warranty Transformation: lead the warranty improvement for electronic hardware by utilizing Single Agenda for Quality and IRIS/SIMPSN process for prioritizing issues and progressing problem solving to resolution in support of achieving R/1000 and throughput objectives.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Extract and report warranty R/1000, CPU and CPR trend data to support product engineering prioritization and measure initiative outcomes.
- Quality Improvement Leadership: Drive root-cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions, leading cross-functional efforts to enhance product quality.
- Customer Insight Development: Analyze customer feedback and warranty trends to identify underlying issues and contributing factors, delivering clear, actionable insights.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Electronic Hardware Design, Software Design, PVT, FCSD, Core Engineering, and suppliers to develop and track quality improvement action plans for top concerns.
- Supplier Warranty Reviews: Lead supplier part review meetings to validate failure modes and support quality improvement strategies. Drive Supplier Spike recovery and GWC process.
- Meeting Support & Reporting: Provide quality input for Electronic Hardware meetings, and support Chief and Director level quality reviews, FSQR report out and CPRs Stand up meeting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics or other related Engineering field
- 4+ years of experience in product development, manufacturing, and/or quality roles
- Analytical & Technical Skills: Proficient in structured problem-solving techniques (8D, 3L5Y, DMAIC, Six Sigma, etc)
- Strong Communication: Able to clearly present technical data and lead discussions across teams
- Team Leadership: Strong organization and coordination skills to manage multiple projects and stakeholders
- Software Proficiency: Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint for analysis and reporting
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Engineering
- Electronics Module Knowledge: Experience with electronic ECU/sensors and component-level diagnostics is a plus
- Analytical and Technical Skills: Six Sigma greenbelt or blackbelt certified
- Data Systems Experience: Proficient in using Ford’s quality data systems, such as Quality.AI, QARS, GSAR, GCQIS, Report Logiq and JIRA

Pay
This position is a range of salary grades 7-8 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
Schedule
This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
