DOI Marine Mineral Administration (MMA) Fellowship - Scientific Evaluation of Stakeholder Relationship Management
About the role
The Marine Minerals Administration (MMA), formerly the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) and the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), seeks a Fellow to enhance public engagement and evaluate stakeholder relationship management advancements at MMA.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on the pilot of an SRM tool to improve stakeholder information tracking, organization, and usage across internal teams.
- Input data into the SRM and review data for quality control.
- Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures for the SRM.
- Design a survey to evaluate the pilot year of the SRM against key performance metrics.
- Gain experience supporting the strategic improvement and evaluation of the SRM tool and its data collection processes.
- Learn to synthesize themes and patterns in engagement data, including identifying key concerns across stakeholder groups.
- Develop skills in data management, organization, and quality control.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of standard operating procedures for the SRM.
- Build program evaluation skills by helping design and implement processes to assess the return on investment of the SRM tool.
- Collaborate and gain skills on a high-profile administration goal with representatives from throughout MMA’s program and regional offices.
- Gain experience conducting user assessments and coordinating with subject matter collaborators.
- Learn methods for evaluating and improving performance metrics associated with the SRM tool.
- Strengthen collaborative and communication skills through efforts that support meaningful engagement with stakeholders and Tribes.
Requirements
The qualified candidate should be currently pursuing or have received an associate's, bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in the relevant fields. Degree must have been received within the past five years, or anticipated to be received by 5/31/2030.

Schedule
The appointment will initially be for one year, but may be renewed upon recommendation of DOI and is contingent on the availability of funds.
