Key Responsibilities
- Conduct private training sessions tailored to individual client needs
- Lead group training classes (puppy, basic obedience, etc.)
- Evaluate dog behavior and develop customized training plans
- Educate clients on proper handling, training techniques, and follow-through
- Track client progress and adjust training plans as needed
- Communicate with clients in person, over the phone, and via email or text
- Schedule and manage training appointments
- Return client calls and respond to inquiries in a timely manner
- Provide clear follow-up instructions and homework after sessions
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of professional dog training experience
- Experience working with a variety of breeds, temperaments, and behavioral issues
- Strong understanding of dog behavior and training principles
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Able to work independently and manage time effectively
- Comfortable leading both private sessions and group classes
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong foundation in positive reinforcement training methods as a primary approach
- Experience using reward-based tools such as treats, clickers, and toys to reinforce desired behaviors
- Certifications such as AKC CGC Evaluator, CPDT-KA, or similar
- Experience in a daycare, boarding, or veterinary setting
