DOD Federal Project Manager - Aviation & Federal (Northeast Region)
At Burns & McDonnell, our Project Managers are seller-doers who develop and maintain client relationships. They coordinate and lead design teams in the Northeast region to deliver quality projects that make clients successful.
About the role
The ideal candidate will have experience working on DOD facility, equipment, and infrastructure projects, and experience with design-build projects. They will manage all design, cost, schedule, construction, and general administration activities associated with their projects, ensuring the successful completion of large and smaller value projects as part of an annual portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, communicate, and facilitate activities of several disciplines on projects of all sizes from concept through completion.
- Make critical decisions and recommendations that significantly impact projects and programs.
- Manage project delivery, including scoping, budgeting, maintaining schedules, meeting budget objectives, and communicating deadlines.
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ranging from small to complex with varying schedules.
- Provide direction to a multi-discipline project design team.
- Monitor project execution for conformance to established processes.
- Promote safe work environments.
- Assist with the development of technical and cost proposals and qualification statements.
- Interact with clients and design teams to develop project scope and provide regular status updates.
- Serve as a primary interface with local clients.
- Assist in maintaining client relationships and networking within client organizations to support business development activities.
- Support field work throughout design and construction.
- Devise new approaches to problems encountered.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 7 to 20 years of related experience, including delivery of facilities and infrastructure projects.
- Ability to represent Burns & McDonnell professionally and competently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Security Clearance.
- Capable of traveling up to 15% of the time.

Pay
Compensation range: $150,000.00 - $385,000.00 yearly. The total annual compensation package includes a base salary and eligibility for a discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
This position is full-time and located in Morristown, NJ, with other potential locations in Newton, MA, or Conshohocken, PA.
