About the role
The Document Specialist I is responsible for the proper handling and destruction of shareholder PPI. This role supports multiple regional business lines with operational support for core, digital, banking, and project-based functions.
Responsibilities
- Timely review incoming packages and sort by mail type, PO Box number, or keywords per documented operating procedures.
- Receiving trackable mail into a third-party database and preparing a manifest for any packages requiring distribution outside of Data Services.
- Properly identifying digital transactions and automated forms to maximize efficiency and streamline processing by eliminating touch points or fully automating the processing.
- Using manual and automated mail opening equipment for opening, prioritizing customer correspondence by transaction type in line with the SEC regulations and reviewing legal documents to prepare them for scanning.
- Properly cancelling securities and correct identification of transaction fee revenue and shareholder investment funding.
- Transaction Ticketing function in workflow to ensure the ability to audit packages with a tracking number.
- Timely and accurate document scanning is essential for achieving a seamless transition from physical to digital transaction processing.
- Organization of batches and proper archiving based on client contracts and the Computershare Document Destruction policy.
- Properly securing shareholder PPI during archiving and the destruction of documents.
- Correspondence output sorting and enclosing while protecting shareholder PPI.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Attention to detail.
- The ability to read and understand cursive.
- The ability to comprehend complex instructions, review legal documents, and colored document seals.
- Reading comprehension with the ability to interpret handwritten or typed instructions to determine the best course of action.
- Some familiarity of check processing, validating properly completed checks and noncomplex math functions.
- Computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft packages, and the use of some automated mail opening, mail metering and scanning equipment.

Pay
The base pay range for this role is $35,731.08-$53,596.62.
