Document Processor
About The Role
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Insurance Document Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing, reviewing, and managing incoming insurance-related documents and mail. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely handling of sensitive information that supports underwriting and claims operations. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, production-driven environment and takes pride in maintaining a high level of accuracy and organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and classify underwriting and claims documents according to established procedures
- Identify and route misdirected documents to the appropriate departments
- Prepare documents for scanning by organizing and sequencing them correctly
- Ensure all documents meet service level agreements (SLAs) and processing standards
- Handle check processing, including identifying and routing premium and deposit checks
- Review and validate auto-classified documents for accuracy (policy details, document types, etc.)
- Correct errors, remove blank pages, and ensure documents are properly indexed
- Process exceptions and manually index documents when needed
- Review and process incoming faxes, ensuring proper classification and documentation
- Ensure document images are clear, legible, and usable
- Scan documents accurately while maintaining high image quality
- Troubleshoot scanner issues and detect errors such as double feeds
- Rescan documents as requested or when errors are identified
- Investigate unidentifiable or misrouted mail and determine appropriate next steps
- Support system testing and document audits as needed
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and FedEx deliveries
- Assist with shipping documents to records centers
- Respond to internal requests for document retrieval or reprocessing
- Maintain organization of document storage and workflow systems
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by leadership
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–2 years of experience in a fast-paced production, mailroom, or document processing environment
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to navigate multiple systems
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Ability to handle confidential information in compliance with privacy standards
- Ability to lift 15–20 lbs consistently

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
