About the role
Dematic is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Documentation Control Specialist to manage engineering drawings and documents. This role ensures accuracy, completeness, and adherence to quality standards, as well as maintains an organized document repository.
Responsibilities
- Process Product Documentation Requests by researching project status, answering questions, and coordinating follow-up with engineers.
- Acquire, verify, and prepare mechanical and electrical engineering drawings for customer use.
- Gather, organize, and maintain parts information, Dematic documentation, and third-party vendor manuals.
- Format, edit, and redact sensitive information within Microsoft Word and PDF documents.
- Create and maintain bookmarked PDF files for improved customer navigation and usability.
- Enter, update, and maintain project tracking information, including engineering status updates.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while meeting established deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 1-5 years of experience in document control, technical documentation, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, PDF editing tools, Adobe Creative Suite, and document control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, practical documentation.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to follow documentation standards, styles, templates, and established processes.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong project management, research, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Willingness to travel depending on the needs of the business, possibly up to 10%.
Pay & schedule
- This is a hybrid role requiring proximity to our U.S. office in Grand Rapids, MI.
- The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $56,250–$82,500 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
