Document Clerk

About the role
A Document Clerk is responsible for organizing, processing, and maintaining physical and digital records within the firm. They ensure documents are accurately filed, retrieved efficiently, and comply with company policies and confidentiality standards. Their role supports smooth administrative operations and helps safeguard important information.
The base hourly rate for this position is $17.00 per hour. This position is remote after the first day. Candidates must have a reliable home workspace and the ability to work from home full-time.
Responsibilities
- Sort, organize, scan, and file documents
- Accurately upload legal documents to various document storage locations
- Properly record information, including ensuring account is in correct/accurate status
- Comply with client document processing requirements through use of proprietary software
- Comply with all applicable standard operating procedures set forth by the office
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy
- Data entry and/or administrative experience a plus
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficient computer skills, including experience in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate in a common language with individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing
- Ability to operate a computer, phone, or equivalent device
- Ability to complete a minimum of a 40-hour flexible workweek schedule
- Ability to read and comprehend position-specific documents and correspondence
Remote Work Requirements
- Must have a private location within their home free from third parties and household members
- Must have stable internet service with a minimum speed of 5 Mbps or any broadband cable access that allows company-issued equipment to connect and operate without disruption
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and data security standards
- Availability during business hours
- Comply with the Firm’s Remote Working Policy
Physical Qualifications
- Ability to lift five pounds or greater
- Ability to sit 90% of the workday at times
- Ability to bend at the waist and be mobile when needed
