DOCK HANDLER

Responsibilities

  • Communicate regularly and professionally with teammates, supervisors, drivers, and other personnel.
  • Perform assigned tasks in dock and staging areas as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Assist with the safe movement, loading, unloading, and staging of materials, shipments, and equipment.
  • Help maintain workflow and organization on the dock to support timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Follow all security, compliance, and safety standards and procedures established by ABM and the client.
  • Report task updates, concerns, or issues to the Supervisor.
  • Must be available to work flexible shifts, including overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed.
  • Work in warehouse and outdoor environments with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Maintain awareness of site security procedures and report unauthorized access or concerns.
  • Escalate operational issues such as overflow, contamination, or equipment failure promptly.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or general cleaning roles is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

About the Role

This role supports dock and facility operations by safely and efficiently handling materials, shipments, and equipment. It involves assisting with daily dock activities including loading, unloading, staging, and organizing materials while following all company policies and procedures. The Dock Associate works as part of a team to help maintain a clean, organized, and safe dock environment for team members, drivers, contractors, and customers.

Pay
