About the role
The Dock & Door Product Manager Sales Specialist engages in direct selling and supports the broader sales team on dock and door products. This role uses a consultative, relationship-based approach to drive sales to building contractors, architects, property management companies, and other industrial clients.
Responsibilities
- Business-to-business industrial sales using a consultative, relationship-based approach
- Direct sales to building contractors, architects, and property management companies
- Training and marketing of the Dock & Door product line to the Core Sales and Customer Care Manager Team
- Increase Dock Equipment sales through account development and internal/external networking
- Develop leads for the Core Sales team for racking, forklifts, and other products through contractor relationships
- Achieve gross margins and profitability targets for new equipment sales
- Sell maintenance contracts supported by the service organization whenever possible
- Grow sales revenue through existing customer base and new account development
- Maintain awareness of competitive issues and ensure high customer satisfaction
- Provide accurate and timely business management information, including leads, proposals, marketing data, competitive data, sales forecasts, and expense management
- Represent the company loyally, faithfully, with honesty and integrity in a team environment
- When applicable, supervise staff: plan and assign projects, make hiring, separation, and disciplinary recommendations, and conduct performance evaluations
- Ensure training development, coordinate training, and identify training needs for new and existing staff/sales team
- Provide leadership for assigned staff
- Manage employee time and attendance if staff is assigned
- Monitor stock equipment needs and manage operational activities related to the Dock & Door product line
- Develop, organize, implement, and oversee programs, policies, and procedures
- Ensure achievement of Dock & Door sales goals
- Render decisions on key department issues impacting overall service and performance
- Provide input to senior leadership for annual budgets
- Direct and prepare reports for Storage and Automation Senior leadership
- Participate in company or department projects
- Ensure assigned employees and team follow all company policies
- Work closely with other departments and communicate with all levels of employees, customers, and manufacturers both verbally and in writing
- Monitor vendor performance and develop new vendors as needs or opportunities arise
- Respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner
- Maintain a professional attitude and demonstrate drive and initiative
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 years minimum sales experience
- Dock Equipment Sales Experience or experience selling capital equipment to end users and General Contractors
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand architectural drawings
- Material handling experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
- Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with employees, co-workers, and managers in other departments
- Must be willing to work off-hours as specific needs dictate and assume more responsibility as required
- Must be self-motivated and able to manage time efficiently, including the time of others
- Must be able to perform duties under minimal supervision
- Local travel to customer locations and other Raymond West offices is expected daily; overnight travel averages less than 20% annually

Physical Requirements
- Work environment varies between desk work, office meetings, and job site walks in finished industrial buildings or new construction sites (may involve walking on loose dirt and gravel)
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must wear personal protective clothing and equipment when required by company policy or customer job site requirements
Pay
The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 plus a commission potential of $50,000 - $100,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by factors including relevant experience, education, and work location.
