Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload trailers, ensuring proper handling of temperature-sensitive products.
- Verify and inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy, quality, and condition.
- Stage and organize pallets in designated dock areas for efficient loading or storage.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment as needed.
- Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records, ensuring all documentation is completed and submitted correctly.
- Work closely with warehouse and logistics teams to prioritize dock assignments and meet shipping schedules.
- Maintain cleanliness, order, and safety of the dock and surrounding work areas.
- Report equipment issues, safety hazards, or discrepancies immediately to supervision.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–2 years of experience in a warehouse, dock, or cold storage environment preferred.
- Able to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely (certification preferred or provided by employer).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow shipping/receiving procedures accurately.
- Comfortable working in cold environments for extended periods.
- Able to lift, push, and pull up to 100 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Able to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays, as required by operational needs.
