About the role
Hugg & Hall Equipment Company is seeking a Field Dock & Door Service Technician with installation experience, mechanical knowledge, and Dock & Door industry experience to join their team. They specialize in industrial and construction equipment and have been in business since 1956.
Responsibilities
- Repair Warehouse Docks and Rollup Doors to bring each customer's facility back to operational safety standards through safety protocols, evaluating repair needs, and communicating effectively with the customer.
- Perform New Installation on Dock and Door projects.
- Effectively communicate with all involved parties about possible downtime and job progress to include the Warehouse Products team so that they may also provide quality customer service and customer communications.
- Operate in a safe, efficient manner with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience installing and repairing loading dock equipment, commercial doors, and high-speed doors preferred.
- Minimum 21 years of age with a clean driving record.
- Above-average communication skills.
- Possessing or having the ability to obtain a complete line of tools.
Skills
- Electrical experience, including proper use of a multimeter.
- General knowledge of operating various equipment.
- Ability to accomplish duties with accuracy and timeliness.
Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions
- Working in operating facilities and outdoors traveling to customer locations.
- Encountering varying weather conditions and temperatures.
- The normal auto hazards will apply.
- Frequent working on equipment with potential hazards where appropriate safety equipment and practices are required.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Occasionally may be required to lift items weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to stand, walk, twist, climb, and crawl.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, or squat.
- Must be able to handle/finger daily.
- Must be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to drive a van/truck to and from customer locations.
- Must be able to wear safety glasses and safety shoes.
- Must be medically capable of performing all aspects of the job with the maximum amount of safety.
