About the role
Field Dock & Door Service Technicians function as part of the Warehouse Products Service Team and are responsible for installing, diagnosing, and repairing warehouse docks and doors.
Responsibilities
- Repair warehouse docks and roll-up doors to bring each customer's facility back to operational safety standards through safety protocols, evaluating repair needs, and communicating those effectively with the customer.
- Perform new installations on dock and door projects.
- Effectively communicate with all involved parties about possible downtime and job progress, including the Warehouse Products team to ensure quality customer service and communications.
- Operate in a safe, efficient manner with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience installing and repairing loading dock equipment, commercial doors, and high-speed doors preferred.
- Minimum 21 years of age with a clean driving record.
- Above-average communication skills.
- Ability to complete DOT medical certification if assigned a DOT-rated vehicle.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Possessing or having the ability to obtain a complete line of tools.
Skills
- Electrical experience, including proper use of a multimeter.
- General knowledge of operating various equipment.
- Ability to accomplish duties with accuracy and timeliness.
- Related experience may include: Dock Equipment Installer, Commercial Door Technician, Dock Maintenance Technician, Warehouse Door Installer.
Physical demands / Environmental conditions
- Work in operating facilities and outdoors, traveling to customer locations with exposure to varying weather conditions and temperatures.
- Frequently work on equipment with potential hazards where appropriate safety equipment and practices are required.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds.
- Requires standing, walking, twisting, climbing, and crawling.
- Requires bending, stooping, kneeling, or squatting, and handling/fingering on a daily basis.
- Requires driving a van/truck to and from customer locations.
- Must be able to wear safety glasses and safety shoes.
- Must be medically capable of performing all aspects of the job with maximum safety.
- This position is deemed a Safety Sensitive job under state medical marijuana laws.
