About the role
The Dock and Door Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing dock and door projects from sale through completion, with a strong focus on sales, budget management, gross margin performance, technician utilization, and customer satisfaction. This role serves as the operational backbone for dock and door projects—supporting sales with technical expertise, accurate estimating, and execution planning—while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and profitably.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage dock and door projects from sale through completion, ensuring work is executed safely, on schedule, within scope, and aligned with customer expectations.
- Project manage and work with technicians to coordinate the installation of dock and door systems including levelers, doors, restraints, and seals.
- Develop, monitor, and control project budgets with accountability for labor efficiency, cost control, and overall job profitability.
- Collaborate closely with vendors, accounting, sales, and management to ensure accurate scheduling, billing, and job closeout.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales proposals and negotiate to close deals.
- Support the sales team by providing technical expertise, job walks, scope development, and execution planning during the pre-sale and quoting process.
- Meet regularly with sales management and equipment sales reps to report on territory performance and forecast future sales.
- Stay current on company products, installation standards, and industry trends to ensure best-fit solutions and continuous improvement.
- Manage additional operational initiatives, construction-related projects, and other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
- College Degree, with degree in business management or engineering preferred
- MBA (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in dock and door, service operations, construction, program management, industrial engineering, or project management
- 2+ years in general, project, or program management
- Technical or mechanical background (preferred)
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Auto-CAD (preferred)
- Knowledge of dock and door, material handling equipment, construction, and/or warehouse optimization
- Great communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proven project management skills
- Strong PowerPoint and Excel capabilities
- Outstanding research and analytical abilities
