About the role

To compete in the 21st-century business world, corporations must foster a workplace rooted in trust and presence. This role focuses on driving a grass-roots paradigm shift to cultivate Corporate Emotional Intelligence (EQ) within organizations, addressing the alarming lack of trust between employees, managers, and leadership.

Millennials, in particular, value managers who invest in their development, making trust a critical factor in retaining younger talent. This position aims to transform workplace culture by identifying and mitigating fear—the primary obstacle to trust—and aligning individual and corporate goals.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze workplace dynamics to pinpoint trust deficits and their root causes, particularly fear-based behaviors (e.g., anger, judgment, impatience).
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions to educate teams on the relationship between fear and negative emotions, using frameworks like Ekman’s emotions and Larry Senn’s Mood Elevator.
  • Guide leadership and employees in acknowledging and controlling fear through proactive response strategies (vs. reactive behaviors).
  • Ensure alignment between corporate missions, long-term goals (e.g., 2017, 2020, 2027), and individual employee ambitions via structured communication (e.g., WIIFM—"What’s In It For Me"—discussions).
  • Design and implement recurring one-on-one meetings between managers and direct reports to foster engagement, feedback, and talent development (e.g., 9 hours/month per team).
  • Promote internal motivation by creating space for employees to reflect on personal and professional goals that align with company objectives.
  • Develop customized Private Client Services for firms seeking to improve EQ and attract long-term employees.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in organizational development, workplace culture transformation, or corporate EQ initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of emotional intelligence frameworks and their application in professional settings.
  • Ability to facilitate difficult conversations around trust, fear, and workplace dynamics.
  • Experience designing and leading workshops, training sessions, or coaching programs for teams and leadership.
  • Strong communication skills, with a focus on active listening and empathy.
  • Background in psychology, human resources, or a related field is a plus.

Skills

  • Expertise in fear mitigation and trust-building strategies.
  • Proficiency in conducting one-on-one and group coaching sessions.
  • Ability to align individual and corporate goals through structured dialogue.
  • Knowledge of emotional intelligence tools (e.g., Ekman’s emotions, Mood Elevator).
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills for diverse audiences.
  • Experience with long-term talent development and employee engagement programs.
