DMS Football Coaches Aide

About the role

To help each participating student achieve a level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.

Responsibilities

• Assist coaching staff in coaching individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
• Assist in planning and implementing practice programs; attend scheduled practices (1 to 2 ½ hours in length).
• Assist and follow the directions of the coaching staff in maintaining the safety conditions of the facility or area in which the assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
• Attend all games or events including culminating events scheduled by the coaching staff.
• Assist the coaching staff in enforcing discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times.
• Maintain competency in rules, rule interpretations, meet procedures, coaching techniques and general information about all aspects of the sport.
• Assist coaching staff in building a consistent and positive public communications procedure through the school and media to inform the parents and the general public about the program.
• Assist coaching staff in preparing and attending pre-season whenever possible.
• Athletic Director has authority to make exceptions to above duties with prior approval as deemed necessary.

Pay

$2,100.00 (80% of Category 6 on the Extra Duty Salary Schedule)
