DME Respiratory Therapist or CPAP Technician
Description
The Durable Medical Equipment Respiratory Therapist/CPAP Tech/Polysomnographic Tech position at Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital is available. This role requires a Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist with one year of hospital-based or home care experience, or a Polysomnographic Tech with a high school diploma or GED and twelve to eighteen months of related experience, along with board certification from the BRPT or ABSM.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Oversee Respiratory Services
- Set-up respiratory equipment and DME as needed
- Educate patients and families on proper use, adverse reactions, equipment maintenance, and safety
- Assess patients and develop a Plan of Care as needed
- Act as a liaison between Trinity Health Hospitals and the family, caregiver, physician, and other healthcare agencies and staff
- Perform tasks as directed by supervisor, including resupply services, documentation, insurance verification, and inventory assistance
- Interact courteously, respectfully, and professionally with all employees, customers, and physicians
- Remain aware of visitors and patients in public areas and assist as necessary
- Maintain confidentiality of patient, physician, associate, and visitor information
- Report preventable hazards and unsafe practices to management immediately
- Perform other duties as assigned by department leadership
