About the Role
The DME and Home Health Coordinator acts as a liaison among patients, providers, insurance carriers, and community agencies to facilitate timely coordination of healthcare services, including DME, Home Health, and Specialty Services.
Responsibilities
- Manage prior authorizations and track referrals
- Coordinate patient care and advocate for patients with insurance
- Ensure accurate documentation in electronic health records
- Monitor authorization statuses and communicate effectively with stakeholders
- Assist patients with care navigation and education
Requirements
- High school diploma (required)
- Healthcare-related certifications and an associate degree (preferred)
- 1-3 years of experience in medical office settings, insurance authorization, or care coordination
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in computer applications
- Knowledge of insurance processes
- Background clearance, immunizations, and HIPAA compliance (mandatory)
- Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing a high-volume workload
Skills
- Bilingual abilities (Spanish or Creole) are a plus
