About the role
The DME Coordinator is responsible for managing durable medical equipment (DME) orders and ensuring compliance with insurance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Review and process DME orders in accordance with insurance guidelines.
- Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies to resolve issues and ensure timely delivery of DME.
- Ensure all DME orders are accurately billed and submitted for reimbursement.
- Manage inventory levels and maintain records of all DME items received and shipped.
- Train new staff members on DME processes and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a DME role.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations.
- Experience with electronic health record systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
