Summary

Manages and provides supervision of the Surveillance Department personnel and operations. Observe and evaluate employee and customer activity in both gaming and non-gaming areas. Remain current on all Tribal, State and Federal gaming rules and regulations. Submit appropriate reports when incident, infractions and violations occur. Maintain company and departmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise personnel to ensure operations are completed in accordance with established policy and procedures
  • Ensure that assigned personnel are qualified and properly trained
  • Identify thefts and other problems which threaten organizational resources, customers and employees
  • Conduct investigations and complete reports for criminal or other procedures
  • Protect confidential information that must be disclosed regarding security systems / activities except to authorized individuals in performance of their official duties
  • Act as liaison with other casinos and law enforcement agencies
  • Prepare budgets for the department
  • Be able to read and understand P&L reports
  • Perform other duties as directed by Surveillance Manager

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Three years’ work experience and / or training in security, law enforcement
  • Knowledge of procedures and requirements in developing a criminal case through collection and documentation of evidence
  • Knowledge of CCTV, security systems, gaming cheating, concept of operations and supervisory training
  • Supervisory experience
  • Two year Casino Surveillance experience at a supervisory level or higher
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all table games

Skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of casino operations, casino games as well as cheating and embezzlement scams
  • A comprehensive knowledge of video surveillance systems
  • Concept of operations and supervisory training
  • Excellent report writing skills

Abilities

  • Ability to operate computers
  • Ability to complete work on time with little to no supervision
  • Ability to handle possibly stressful situations
  • Ability to interact with the public in a fair, impartial and courteous manner
  • Ability to clearly understand verbal and written instructions, technical manuals, and other documents required

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

  • Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Working Environment

  • The team member is regularly exposed to risk of radiation (from computers), as a great deal of the workday is spent working on spreadsheets or inputting data into the computer system.
  • Office, gaming floor and convention center environment including flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke.
  • Extensive computer use.
  • Must handle hazardous materials.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule.
  • Must be willing to work any hours and/or shift, as assigned, according to business needs.
  • Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals.
  • High volume direct public contact.
