DLO Night Shift Microbiology MLS/MLT I

Location: Oklahoma City, OK

Hours: 8:30 pm – 7:00 am; variable 4‑10 hour shifts, rotating weekends and holidays.

Essential Functions

• Report to work on time and prepared for each scheduled shift.
• Perform all assigned duties and processes, including tasks for which you are fully qualified and those within your demonstrated capabilities.
• Maintain a positive, professional, and supportive attitude throughout the workday.
• Work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to a respectful, productive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests in microbiology and assist with specimen processing as needed.
• Follow employer policies and work with fellow employees in a professional, productive manner.
• Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• General laboratory knowledge, including the ability to use computers.
• Knowledge of QA and QC.
• Previous experience in microbiology or molecular biology preferred.
• AS degree in Medical Lab Technology or BS in Medical Technology.
• Ability to maintain a professional, courteous, and pleasant attitude during heavy workload and stress.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Keyboard proficiency.
• Good customer service skills, professional appearance and attitude.
• Willingness to work overtime or other shifts if required.
• Ability to work 10‑hour shifts, rotating weekends and holidays.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Frequent lifting and carrying of objects 1–10 lb; occasional lifting of 11–25 lb; seldom lifting of 36–50 lb; objects over 50 lb not to be lifted without assistance.
• Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods.
• Frequent walking and/or standing.
• Use of a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments requiring significant manual dexterity.

Licenses and Certifications

• ASCP Certification (preferred).
